WRIGHT PETITION (CC Docket #96-128):

Dear Chairman Genachowski:
I am an elderly woman living on a very low income of social security disability. I
live in the state of Illest Virginia. My husband is incarcerated in the state of
Michigan. He is serving a life without parole sentence. Because of the cost of
gasoline and the state of the economy, along with the increased cast of living I can
not afford to travel to Michigan to visit my husband. Our only communication is
through the U.S. Mail or telephone. However, because of the current contract that
that the Michigan Dep' t of Correction has entered into with PCS, which nearly
tripled the cost of a prisoner telephone in the past year or so, I can not any
long9r afford to speak to my husband on the phone on a weekly basis. I was able to
speak to him weekly prior to PCS' manipulation of the MDDe prisoner telephone
contract, when phone calls from my husband were only $1.80 per call. Now a phone
call from my husband cost me $4,20 per call with all the hidden cost factors in this
new pes contract. Such as a 12 cent per minute surcharge for a security equipment to
defect non-existing cell phones, within the MDDC.
I
respectfully request that you take the necessary actions to prevent the
exploitation of the poor families of prisoners, with these price gouging tactics of
big telephone company's who are targeting them.

Thank you very much for your time, requesting your immediate intervention.

Dear Chairman Genachowski :

I am a Federal Inmate housed over 300 miles from my
home. I am employed at Unicor (prison industries) one of the best
jobs within this prison. I am making roughly 35.00 dollars per
Month. I have 2 children and 2 brothers that I am trying to maintain
a relationship with. I have over 8 years l,!ft on my Sentence and
it is cost prohibitative to receive visits. Phone calls are the
only

means I have of direct contact with my Family. Since Phone

calls are 3.45 per 15 minute call. Calling each family member once
a month would cost me approxiamtely 14.00 dollars a month, almost
half of my income. This puts, an unreasonable burden on me and
hinders my ability to maintain family ties and a healthy
relationship with my children. Please help me in anyway that you
can.
Respectfully

Roger Kersten
